Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor on Friday opened the India International Jewellery week (IIJW).

Kapoor, who is the brand ambassador of y event by lighting the traditional lamp along with the chairman of GJEPC Vipul Shah and Member of Parliament Subodh Kant Sahay.

“I have been the brand ambassador for GJEPC for four years now. I love jewellery especially gems. I think it is incredible that we get to endorse the jewellery industry of India because it does so well. I want to make sure that we can export more, and we flourish more,” Kapoor said.

The 27-year-old actress wore a red and white ensemble by designer Anamika Khanna and teamed it up with intricate jewellery.

IIJW will see celebrities like Zeenat Aman, Juhi Chawla, Ankita Shorey, Shriya Saran, Yami Gautam, Lara Dutta,

Chitrangada Singh and others walk the ramp for the leading jewellery brands of the country. The jewellery week will showcase 17 designers
