Is an anxious Shahid Kapoor feeling threatened by former girlfriend Kareena Kapoor’s superstardom?

That seems to be the question on industry watchers’ minds with Sasha asking for the release date of his upcoming Phata Poster Nikla Hero to be pushed back, in order to avoid a clash with Kareena’s Satyagraha.

Both Satyagraha and PPNH have the same release date as of now, which is August 23.

A trade source pointed out that Sasha is on a desperate bid to revive his career — which hit a slump after the actor starred in back-to-back flops last year. He has placed all his bets on PPNH, in which he stars opposite the gorgeous Ileana D’Cruz. The news that his film would clash with ex girlfriend Kareena’s Satyagraha (which features an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn) apparently gave Sasha a case of the jitters.

“Satyagraha has bigwigs like Mr Bachchan and Ajay in lead roles. It is also Kareena’s first film post-wedding. The entire package is so big that it’s inevitable that the competition would feel intimidated. In all probability, Satyagraha will get a bumper opening. Sasha’s nervousness is justified as he has a lot of expectations from PPNH,” says a source close to Shahid.
