There was a grand reception at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai attended by many members of the film fraternity.

1.Imtiaz Ali:
Both Kareena and Saif have successfully collaborated with Imtiaz Ali (Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, and Cocktail). Their favourite director was in New York earlier this week and could not attend their wedding functions.
2.Amitabh Bachchan and family:
Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan were engaged and that did not work out, so the families drifted apart. However, recently, Randhir Kapoor attended Amitabh Bachchan's seventieth birthday bash. While Abhishek and Aishwarya are currently in Chicago, it was strange that Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan did not attend the wedding reception. Shweta Bachchan Nanda attended from her husband's side. Ritu Nanda (formerly Kapoor) is her mother-in-law.
3.Priyanka Chopra:
She is very much in the city but Kareena couldn't care less about her rival. They appear to be cordial and cool but clearly they do not get along as is evident by PC's absence at the wedding reception.
4.Shahid Kapoor:
Kareena Kapoor's former beau was obviously not invited to the wedding. They are not in touch at all and even avoid each other at events, though there is no bad blood between them anymore.
5.Sanjay Kapur:
All is not well between Karisma Kapoor and her husband, no matter what is projected to the media. He was conspicuous by his absence at all the wedding functions.
6.Amrita Singh:
Saif's former wife gracefully sent both the children to the wedding functions and reception but chose to stay away from all the action herself.
7.Arjun Rampal and Madhur Bhandarkar:
Saif and Arjun are supposedly buddies and Kareena recently acted with Arjun in Heroine and Ra.One. Still the actor and his wife Mehr were not at the reception. Was the failure of Heroine such a terrible thing that Madhur Bhandarkar skipped his star's reception or was he not invited at all?
8.Aamir Khan:
Kareena's favourite co-star was away shooting in Chicago for Dhoom:3 and could not make it for the wedding reception.
9.Salman Khan:
Kareena's co-star in movies like Bodyguard and Kyon ki and a good friend of hers stayed away from the reception though some of his family members were present at the wedding.
10.Deepika Padukone:
Deepika and Saif have acted in four movies now: Race 2, Cocktail, Aarakshan, and Love Aaj Kal. Was she absent because apparently Kareena does not like her?
