NDTV or New Delhi Tele Vision is one of the oldest news channels of the country. It is a responsible channel that has been always inclined towards the betterment of the Indian society.

The ‘NDTV Indian of the year’ is the organization’s initiative to recognize and highlight the remarkable achievement of fellow Indians in the different walks of life. Recently, on April 15th 2013, the eighth edition of the award function was held amidst much fan fare at Delhi.


The function was dedicated to all the daughters of the great Indian nation. The ceremony also celebrated the 25 years of the news channel on air.

Any award function cannot be complete without the presence of the Bollywood celebrities and sure enough, we had our very own Farhan Akhtar, Sridevi and Kareena Kapoor Khan

gracing the event. Kareena was dressed in designer Manish Malhotra's embroidered sari with maroon blouse. Farhan performed on the stage and entertained the audience. He recited his own poem on the stage and later sang the popular songs from his movie ‘Rock On’. He was even seen shaking a leg with the eminent personality Barkha Dutt. All in all it was an all around performance by Farhan and we hope to see him return to the event again next year.

The evening witnessed Sridevi receiving the award at the ‘NDTV Indian of the year’ for the best entertainer of the year while Kareena Kapoor won the entertainer of the decade award. Both the lady at the award function was clad in ethnic Indian saree and looked every bit gorgeous. Kareena’s saree was designed by Manish Malhotra and the white saree with red border had lot of patch works on it.

Kareena was expectedly asked about her married life. Speaking about her relation with Saif, Bebo said, "I am a woman in love and when you are in love, you cross boundaries." On a humorous note she was also quick to add, "Saif and I contribute to air fare sales."

On a serious note Kareena was asked whether getting married hampered the career of a Bollywood actress or not. Bebo smartly answered the question by saying, “The fact that there are two married actresses on this stage receiving awards should answer your question.”
