Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen in Denmark in 1986. Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone was a professional badminton player and her mother was a travel agent. When Deepika was less than a year old the family moved to Bangalore in India where Deepika’s younger sister Anisha was born in 1991.
Starting her career from an early age, Deepika began modelling in 2006. She was soon spotted by model scouts and at the 5th annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards she earned the title Model of the Year. Later she also won two titles at the Zee Fashion Awards including Fresh Face of the Year and Female Model of the Year.
