She says her character plays a key part in bringing together the entire movement shown in the film. “Yasmin kind of puts together the whole revolution, brings together the entire movement that we have (shown) in the film. It’s strong, it’s intense and I am happy that Prakashji thought of me for this role,” the 32-year-old said on Wednesday June 26.
Kareena also said she did not prepare much for the role. “There was not too much preparation because I am a director’s actor, and I left everything to Prakashji. He guided me through the whole role, but I think there are influences of some journalists. The role is very work-focused and no time for love. That’s basically Yasmin’s character,” she said.
The actress says the role helped her understand the work pressures of a reporter. “Our film shows that when she (the reporter) is on field and during the time of the revolution, she stays true to her work no matter what the situation is.”
