Kareena Kapoor Khan has described herself as a "director's actor" following her central role in her latest film.The actor plays a journalist trying to uncover political corruption in the thriller Satyagraha.

She told The Times of India: "There was not too much preparation because I am a director's actor, and I left everything to Prakashji. He guided me through the whole role, but I think there are influences of some journalists. Basically, very work-focused and no time for love... That's basically Yasmin's character.

"Our film shows that when she [the reporter] is on field and during the time of the revolution, she stays true to her work no matter what the situation is. I understand that the media has to do their job, their job is to report and have constant stories to report all the time, no matter where and how."

Speaking to Digital Spy recently, the 32-year-old said that she took inspiration from real life news reporters such as CNN's Christiane Amanpour.Director Prakash Jha said last week that he will be launching the trailer simultaneously in London and Mumbai.The film, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Amitabh Bachchan, releases worldwide on August 23.
