But, none of these rumours turned out to be true. During a recent Cannes interview, Ash had hinted that she would make her comeback soon. And, the latest we hear is that the actress might return to the silver screens with filmmaker Karan Johar's upcoming movie.
As per the rumours, KJo's upcoming project Shuddhi, that features Hrithik Roshan as the main male lead, might witness Aishwarya Rai as the heroine.
A while ago, the rumours were rife that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been roped in for the project opposite Hrithik Roshan. But nothing was confirmed later.
Reportedly, Shuddhi will be produced by Karan Johar, under his banner Dharma Productions, and directed by Karan Malhotra. On the other hand, Malhotra told the media, "The leading lady of the film is not yet finalised. So far it is only Hrithik Roshan who has been finalised. I can't talk much about whether Kareena is in the film as long as Karan (Johar) doesn't make an official announcement."
Now, we wonder if the history gets repeated. Earlier, we had seen Kareena replacing Ash in Bhandarkar's Heroine. And now, if things go well on Aishwarya's part, will the Bachchan bahu take over Bebo in Shuddhi?
