One-film-old Alia Bhatt celebrated her birthday on Friday by cutting a cake on the sets of director Imtiaz Ali’s film Highway.

The girl who turned 20 on March 15 has lately been on the road, shooting with Randeep Hooda for Ali’s film Highway. She didn’t take a break from work on her birthday, but the cast and crew of the film made sure to order two cakes, which Alia Bhatt happily cut even as the crew clapped and sung “Happy Birthday to you”.

In the pic above, you can spot Randeep Hooda and Imtiaz Ali on the right.

Alia Bhatt, who made her Bollywood debut last year with Student Of The Year, has apparently taken to her role in Highway like a fish takes to water.

Imtiaz Ali concurs: “Alia is responding beautifully, Randeep is a fantastic actor. I am very excited about the locations we are shooting in and it's very comforting that Sajid Nadiadwala (producer) is standing behind us.”

For Alia it has clearly been a challenge to shoot her second film on the roads.

“The journey we have undertaken is emotionally charged and physically strenuous. The story grips me completely,” Imtiaz Ali added.
